Ahead of UFC San Antonio, I had the opportunity to spend the fight week with Welterweight headliner, Leon Edwards. Leon took on Rafael Dos Anjos on July 20th at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. Leon went on to win the main event. Below are some photos from my week with Leon Edwards and his team.
My first day with Leon.
Before fight week commenced, I met Leon’s team at a local sports bar in San Antonio to watch the UFC Fight Night featuring de Randamie vs. Ladd.

Radio Tour (Wednesday, July 17, 2019)
Wednesday was a super busy day for Leon. We went to his radio tour at 98.5 and ESPN San Antonio. From there he fulfilled his UFC media duties, including interviews for the fight show previews. We went to open workouts at the AT&T center and visited fans that afternoon. Following that, Leon and his team went to a local gym to get a workout in.

Leon heads out the locker room to face RDA.
I can’t even explain how anxious I was while watching the fight. I was alone in the locker room with the broadcast airing. I knew Leon was prepared and ready to go, but I know how unpredictable MMA can be. My hands were shaking. The team got back to the locker room elated. I was so excited to hug Leon and tell him congratulations.

I am beyond grateful to Leon Edwards, Tim Simpson, and his entire team for allowing me the opportunity to spend this fight week with them. They were all welcoming and made me feel right at home. Congratulations Team Edwards, can’t wait for the next one. ■
